Karen Ebert
Senior Vice President

Karen has over 40 years experience in the insurance industry specializing in complex risks and niche markets nationwide. Karen joined SAGE in 2020 bringing her vast knowledge and expertise to help lead our Shooting Sports and Ground Delivery programs. She has built great relationships with our exclusive carrier and agency partners and works hand-in-hand to underwrite the best in class new and renewal business ensuring profitable growth for everyone.

 

When not working Karen enjoys getting out in the outdoors, usually agate and sea shell hunting at the coast but also camping and fishing with her husband, kids and grandchildren.

Hannah Nicks
Director of Operations

Hannah joined the SAGE team in 2022 and is a licensed insurance producer with paralegal experience specializing in workers’ compensation. Hannah brings her excellent organizational and communication skills to lead our customer service, policy administration, commission processing and other critical servicing tasks. Since joining the team, she has found no two days in workers’ comp are the same, and every day holds new professional and personal learning opportunities.

 

When not working, Hannah enjoys trips to the mountains off-roading with family, and peaceful walks with her husband looking for sand dollars on the beach. Her hobbies include writing novels, crocheting scarves, and folding the tiniest origami swans.

Chuck Holdren
President & CEO

Chuck brings over 35 years of specialty niche insurance programs and executive leadership experience. From starting as a file clerk at an insurance company out of high school to building two leading national underwriting companies, Chuck started SAGE in 2019.  With the mission to help underserved businesses get a place at the insurance table, SAGE proudly serves industries that need it.

 

When not working, Chuck enjoys all things outdoors with his wife and two dogs and loves to be on the water with a fly rod in hand.  Whether hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, skiing, surfing, camping or just planning the next journey under a tree, life is so much better when you’re outside. Get out and enjoy it!

Ken Helmick
Vice President of Casualty Programs

Joining Sage in 2024 to lead our Casualty Programs Division, Ken brings 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held leadership roles with specialty MGAs and most recently at an E&S insurance carrier. Ken has been instrumental in driving top-line growth and building a vast network of industry contacts both nationwide and in the London/global markets. His success is based on strategic, loyal relationships and a commitment to excellent service.

 

Ken specializes in challenging casualty classes, particularly in the construction industry. He has expertise in underwriting General Liability, Auto, Inland Marine, and Excess for hard-to-place classes.

 

Outside of work, Ken enjoys spending time with his family—his wife and their two children. He looks forward to family vacations at the beach, coaching his children’s sports teams, and is an avid golfer.
